CSB Calgary makes and installs backlit letters & logos for institutions & businesses

Backlit letters are fabricated using tin metal or formed plastic can, at the bottom of which the lights are attached. On top comes the lid with the graphics (cap).

Backlit logos are fabricated the same way, first we make a "bottom" around which we bend the sheet metal to create the can, then we bend a trim around the face plastic to make the cap.

Backlit letters are used by retail stores and also by major companies who want to make their name as visible as possible. Installation is done usually directly on a wall or bulkhead.

These advertising elements do not consume a lot of energy due to the fact that they mostly run at 12V with LED. However, or company can incorporate a timer, or a photocell switch.

The face is made out of translucent plastic (polycarbonate or acrylic). Printed or plotter-cut vinyl graphics are laid on each letter or logo, following a precise positioning.

At daytime, most backlit letters look very similar to how they look at night-time, maybe a bit less vibrant. One must take in consideration the color combination, ensuring contrast.

Some backlit logos are more custom, and the light does not pass through the vinyl on the letters faces; instead the letter sides are translucent, and that's where the light comes through.

CSB can make and install these in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Bragg Creek, Chestermere, Strathmore, High River, Turner Valley, Nanton, Olds, Sundre, Red Deer, Canmore, and Banff.

Backlit letters are used by many business in Calgary, for advertisement and for identification purposes. Retailers and walk-in service providers promote their brand or object of activity. Institutions and facilities use the backlit letters and logos so that they can be found easily. One example would be Calgary Saddledome and their backlit letters visible for tourists and various event attendees. Hospitals also need to be visible and from a long distance to help those needing to get there reach them faster. Indoors, in the malls, backlit letters are usually placed on the bulkhead above the store main entrance, or on a specially-made ledge. Outdoors, on buildings, these signs are placed above the entrance and also at the top of the building facing the major traffic arteries.
